WELCOME to the Play It Forward 2: The Women's Day Benefit Show Compilation CD Open Educational Resource!

This OER-wiki is dedicated to the Music Album which I co-produced with Fanmode Distro and Freedom Pad 'Zine in 2014.

Back in 2014, I organized a Benefit Show together with my friends. The event was held on March 8th to commemorate and celebrate the International Women's Day. Our aim was to invite female-fronted bands to perform and contribute a song for a CD compilation. This CD was only produced to less than 100 copies, which some people consider a rare collector's item. I actually forgot how many were actually sold and given away, and less the bad runs. No additional production will be made as I have lost most of my files when my old computer died. The original inlay, the music files, high res posters and drafts, etc. were all gone. This is why I chose this as a topic for my OER Project. This site aims to gather information about the artists, songs, fundraisers/benefit shows and the beneficiaries, and share the knowledge with everyone who wishes to create a DIY (Do-It-Yourself) album and/or show, for a good cause.

All proceeds gathered from the album sales and tickets were donated to Abiertas House of Friendship (AHF), a non-government organization in the Philippines that provides temporary home for needy women and girls, especially unwed mothers, and protect them from the ravages of all forms of immoralities. This is a cause that I strongly believe in and support. And with the help of my friends, our families, the people who supported the show and the cause itself, both in person and from afar, and especially the artists who performed, the event turned out to be a success!

I am currently in my fifth term taking up Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Studies at the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU). This blog-wiki is a requirement for the course MMS 102: Multimedia Theories, which provides the environment to deepen the understanding of the various theoretical positions on multimedia, its changing technologies, and its environment. It is of great import for this course to be the venue to broaden experiences in its practice.
